Water Tower raises a lot of Questions

NO 'TANK YOU!

The destruction and removal of the Water Tower in Christensen Park raises serious questions:

1. Where did the suggestion come from in the first place?
2. How many citizens have really complained about it's present location?

Answer: None. Mainly people call to say the tank is overflowing. (6/20/08)
3. How many citizens have really complained about it's esthetics?
None

4. Is there a hidden agenda in the removal.
5. How is it going to be paid for?
It is wholly finance by rate payers funds. (6/20/08)
These seem to be rather obvious questions that should be answered.

In part, the tower could be paid for by increasing fees for water useage agreed to in 2005. The real question is whether this is even necessary in the first place

Hey, moderator:

Great to see you got the blog up and running. I will be reading often!

According to Public works, the tower doesn't meet earthquake standards, and is too small. The new tank will be larger to help maintain water pressure, and will have a system to shut off the pumps when it is filled. No more overflows.
