The year 2009 was a year that set in motion spending measures that will cause our nation to "Bleed Out". If you can't stop the bleeding, you eventually run out of blood. Sure, you can temporarily put off the inevitable by putting more blood in the system, but there is a point when you can't put enough blood in fast enough to keep the patient alive.
THE PATIENT IS RUNNING OUT OF BLOOD!
Point in Fact: Our governor just implemented another school program, which on the surface is working in the right direction, but along with that is of course more money, which for the District is an Unfunded liabilty if they participate. There is no guarantee that they will receive the funds, not unlike many other unfunded and underfunded mandates from the State. If underfunded or not funded the budget deficit worsens.
Since the State is already "Broke" financially, the Governor appeals to the President for Funds to help us out.
The President has to raise the deficit ceiling in order to cover the "credit card payments" for the programs he has and will propose, and goes to China and Russia (yes Russia) and other countries to see if they will lend us the money. Coming soon we will spend more on interest payment on this debt than we spend on the actual cost of running the major components or our government, and those who have lent to us in the past will stop lending, and /or more devastating to our economy, they will call the debt..
We can say the same for Yolo County and the City of Woodland. More important than the amount going in is the amount going out in each of the above examples. Either we take measures to stop this, or it will consume us. We are bleeding to death!
