LOCAL ON-LINE POLLS SHOWING SALES TAX DEFEAT IN JUNE

While On-Line poles can be somewhat tainted, most of the polls taken lately show that the NO vote is running a steady 60%.  Over 600 Voters have contributed to the Daily Democrat's On-Line Pole.

If this holds steady the Sales Tax increase will be defeated.

BURIED IN THE HEALTHCARE BILL, A NEW "CLASS ACT" THAT HAS NO CLASS!

Buried within the healthcare bill is what is call the "Class Act".  The name is great.  It is, however, yet another Govenment program that won't work.

This "CLASS ACT" will provide up to $75.00/Day for in-home care for seniors in the future, paid for by a  payroll deduction, from $67-$500 per month.  It is automatic, unless you opt-out of the deduction, which no doubt will be a cumbersome process.

Officials, asked if the money would go into a "lock-box" like Social Security stated that there is no such thing as a lock-box for this or for Social Security and this program will suffer the same fate as Social Security.

HEALTH CARE "RECONCILIATION" STILL BEING DEBATED.

After processing over 40 amendments by  Senate  Republicans, and I say processing because it is a foregone conclusion that the bill was going to pass tonight, with the Democrat's managing to cram the healthcare bill down our throats.  The vote tonight is all but certain.

As the Democrats congratulated one another for their efforts, thanking their staff for being so helpful, and bemoaned the extra time they had to spend, I wonder how sorry those who have lost their jobs recently felt for these "poor" aides and Congressmen.

The next attack will come when the Democrats start talking about immigration.  Gee, I wonder how they feel about "illegal" immigration, or will they just eliminate the word from THEIR  vocabulary?

OBAMA ARROGANCE CAUSES SCEPTICISM.

All over the papers today is something similar to this: "Presdient Obama to give specifics of HIS healtcare plan tomorrow".

It seems that anybody in their right minds would NOT VOTE FOR a measure that they don't have the specifics on FIRST.  That suggests that there are a lot of elected officials who are CRAZY. (NOT HARD TO FIGURE OUT AND YOU KNOW WHO THEY ARE.

THIS PLAN IS A NIGHTMARE , NO MATTER WHAT PRESIDENT OBAMA SAYS!
Civil discourse  no longer appears to be an option!

WHERE DOES THE MONEY GO????

The U.S. Postal Service, crying poor-mouth, with annual raises to your stamp prices is in the proccess, as we speak, putting in GPS units in all carrier vans.  The reason?  So that  the head office can see where they are parking!  The cost, $700.00 each.   The number of Vehicles?  600,000!!!!!

HOW MUCH ARE THEY SPENDING?    $42,000,000.00

Is it any wonder why they are in financial trouble?

The next proposal is Chrysler Electric Powered Vans.  Wonder how much that will cost.

My "Ways" ,and by any "Means" Charlie Rangel Steps Down

According to Politico, Charlie Rangel  has given up his gavel as head of the Ways and Means committee, giving it up to Pete Stark of California.    There is no doubt that Pete Stark, one of the most, if not the most liberal members of the Ways and Means committee will carry on the tradition that Rangel has established.

We will have to re-name the committee as the "Way and Mean" committee.  According to Politico,  Stark is known as " one of the chamber's most liberal, partisan and pugnacious members". "He  has had his own recent run-in with the ethics committee, exhibiting bizarre behavior during an investigation that ultimately cleared him of any wrongdoing."

IF YOU ARE GOING TO VOTE FOR THE 1/4 % SALES TAX INCEASE YOU MIGHT WANT TO SEE WHAT YOU ARE REALLY VOTING FOR!
HEARD ON THE STREET:

1. I AM VOTING YES ON THE SALES TAX BECAUSE IT WILL GO TO THE LIBRARY
2. I AM VOTING YES ON THE SALES TAX BECAUSE IT WILL GO TO PARKS AND RECREATIONS.
3. I AM VOTING YES ON THE SALES TAX BECAUSE IT IS GOING TO PUBLIC SAFETY.

ALL OF THE ABOVE ARE INCORRECT.  THE SALES TAX WILL GO INTO THE GENERAL FUND!

DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THE ADVISORY MEASURES, ALSO ON THE BALLOT.  THEY ARE "NON-BINDING" AND ARE DESIGNED IN PART TO GIVE DIRECTION TO THE COUNCIL WHERE TO SPEND THE MONEY.   SHOULD THE COUNCIL DECIDE TO SPEND IT IN OTHER AREAS THEY ARE FREE TO DO SO.
